Recent paintings by Brian Keeler
The Blue Heron Gallery is now hosting a special exhibit of twenty-four of the large scale paintings of Brian Keeler in the spacious new Community Room Gallery. Also at the Blue Heron Gallery in the front room is a show of four artists of Northeastern Pa, Bill Teitsworth, Renee Emanuel, Georgianna Cray-Bart, and Laura Orvieto. This show of Keeler's oil paintings, pastels and watercolors represents landscapes of the area, still lifes and allegorical work completed over the past several years. The show continues until the spring of 2006. An opening reception is planned to coincide with the Annual Holiday show in the front gallery to be on Friday, November 25 between 5 and 8 p.m. Hours are generally Monday through Friday from 9 to 4:30 p.m. and on some Saturdays. Brian Keeler has received many awards for his art work and his paintings are included in numerous private and corporate collections. In the spring of 2004 his work was shown at the Everhart Museum in Scranton in a career retrospective along with the artwork of his father, William Keeler. He has been a rostered artist with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts for over 6 years and has been on the faculty at Keystone College as well as teaching workshops here and in Italy. A workshop is now being planned for Tuscany in the Spring of 2006.
